Juniper Network Engineer
Location: Spring, TX. Hybrid.
Contract role.
### Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with Juniper network systems.
- Juniper Networks Certification (JNCIA, JNCIS, JNCIP, or JNCIE) preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of Juniper routers, switches, and firewalls (MX, EX, SRX series).
- Proficiency in Junos OS configuration and management.
- Experience with Juniper SRX Series for firewall implementation and security policies.
- Familiarity with Juniper’s routing protocols like IS-IS, MPLS, and LDP.
- Strong understanding of Juniper Virtual Chassis and chassis clustering technology.
- Experience with Juniper security solutions, such as Juniper Secure Edge and AppSecure.
- Knowledge of Juniper automation and orchestration tools like Junos Automation and NorthStar.
- Experience with routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) and network automation.
- Proficiency with network monitoring tools and network performance tuning.
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Familiarity with network security best practices and VPN solutions.
- Ability to work independently and in team environments.
- Strong communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
### Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and maintain Juniper network solutions (routers, switches, and firewalls).
- Configure and troubleshoot Juniper hardware and software platforms (Junos OS).
- Monitor network performance, identify inefficiencies, and implement optimizations.
- Maintain and configure Juniper SRX firewalls for network security and traffic management.
- Implement routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS) on Juniper platforms.
- Configure Juniper Virtual Chassis and chassis clustering for high availability.
- Integrate and manage Juniper’s SDN and NFV technologies as part of network solutions.
- Maintain network security by configuring VPNs, firewalls, and security policies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Juniper systems with other technologies.
- Conduct network performance assessments and prepare reports for management.
- Utilize Juniper’s automation tools for network optimization and management.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and advancements in Juniper technologies.
- Provide technical support and troubleshoot network issues.
- Document network configurations, designs, and processes for internal use.
