Job Description
Overview:
The Juniper Travel Network Engineer plays a pivotal role in driving network infrastructure transformations for our enterprise clients, specifically transitioning from Cisco to Juniper solutions. This position requires a deep understanding of network technologies, strong technical skills, and the ability to lead and execute complex network projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Network Assessments and Site Surveys: Conduct thorough assessments and site surveys to evaluate existing network infrastructure and identify opportunities for optimization and migration to Juniper technologies.
- Network Transformation: Lead and participate in the planning, design, and implementation of network transformations, including hardware and software upgrades, configuration changes, and migration of network services.
- Technical Expertise: Possess in-depth knowledge of network technologies such as LAN, WAN, SDN, QoS, and security solutions like Palo Alto Firewalls and Up Logix LM83(x).
- Juniper Proficiency: Demonstrate expertise in Juniper MIST and XLM solutions, including their deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Network Design and Engineering: Develop and implement network designs that align with customer requirements and industry best practices, considering factors like scalability, performance, and security.
- Network Troubleshooting: Identify, diagnose, and resolve network issues promptly and efficiently, minimizing downtime and service disruptions.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Customer Collaboration: Build strong relationships with clients, understand their business needs, and provide exceptional customer service.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Technical Skills:
- Deep understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, etc.)
- Proficiency in Juniper network devices (routers, switches, firewalls)
- Experience with Cisco to Juniper migrations
- Knowledge of network security best practices
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Certifications:
- Juniper certifications (JNCIP, JNCIE) preferred
- Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
